Bucs Will be the Packers Punching Bag in Week 9

November 4th, 2009 by Matthew Logan 2 comments

Packers Cowboys FootballYou couldn’t order up a better NFL football odds rebound for the Green Bay Packers after a gut-wrenching loss in the Favre Bowl than what’s dialed up for week 9. After having their hearts ripped out at Lambeau Field by the Favre and his new team this team needs a punching bag of an opponent to take out their frustrations and they’ll get it.

Poor Buccaneers. After a devastating and emotional loss like the one suffered on Monday Night, the Pack could use a trip to balmy Florida and a marshmallow opponent to run the score up on.

Now 3½ games back in the NFC North NFL football odds standings the team will also need a win. And they’ll get it.

Green Bay is still a playoff caliber team and could easily be one of the Wild Card teams in the NFL odds post season.  It’s ranked in the top ten in both defense and offense and its 27 ppg is evidence of a potent offense. Read more…

AFC North Will Be a Fight to the Finish

November 2nd, 2009 by Matthew Logan No comments

AFC North Will Be a Fight to the FinishIn general the AFC playoff race picture is a bit of a NFL football odds snoozer. In three of the four divisions the race for the title is all but wrapped up. Denver (6-1) is light years ahead of the rest of the poor teams in the AFC West.

It’s all but impossible to think that undefeated Indy (7-0) will lose ground to anyone in a weak AFC South. And it’s clear that New England (5-2) is still the class of the AFC East.

But when you focus the flashlight on the AFC North NFL football odds playoff picture,
things get a bit more interesting. Read more…

AFC West is All of a Sudden Very Interesting

October 30th, 2009 by Scott Michael No comments

AFC West is All of a Sudden Very InterestingThe NFC West has long been the doormat of the NFL football odds conference. It rarely gets any respect (nor does it deserve any) and has relegated to irrelevance more times than not when the post season arrives.

But it’s also enigmatic considering that it’s claimed an NFC conference title two of the past five NFL football odds seasons and after a retched start this season it appears to be one of the more competitive divisions in the conference. Read more…

Brett Favre is going back to his roots

Brett Favre is going back to his rootsNFL football odds handicappers believe that just like Gabe Kotter, Brett Favre is going back to his roots.  But unlike Mr. Kotter he won’t have a catchy theme song, sweat hogs, or any love from the locals in his homecoming.

When the Packers host the Vikings on Sunday afternoon it could very well be the most hostile NFL odds crowd that Favre has ever played in front of.

It’s hard to say, the Lambeau fans tend to be a courteous bunch and by most accounts rarely boo any opponent.  But as everyone on the planet earth has heard by now, they’ve never hosted an opponent so near to their hearts as Favre. Read more…

Miami Looking to Stop Slide at Jets

October 26th, 2009 by Matthew Logan No comments

Miami Looking to Stop Slide at JetsIn the NFL football odds battle for the AFC East the Dolphins have little hope retaining its crown. But any defense it hopes to mount must begin with a road win over the hated New York Jets this Sunday.

The Jets have been up and down the past few weeks but after a massive beating handed out to the Raiders in Week 7 it looks like the team might have righted the ship.

The NFL football odds list the Jets as 3½ point favorites at home.

The first time these two teams met the Dolphins got the better of the match up. They shut down rookie QB Mark Sanchez and played ball control offense keeping the ball out of the Jets hands and pounding them to death with a steady diet of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the NFL odds victory.
