The NFL Unfollows Twitter

notwitterMany NFL teams don’t want their players to use Twitter, and some teams have even taken measures to keep their players and personnel away from the popular social network.

This means of reading what players and personnel have to say can be beneficial for NFL betting, as it can give bettors an insight into the team’s capabilities, but that same information can be seen by others who may not use it in the same manner.

It appears as if the coaches from these teams are really trying to safeguard their information that could give rival teams a very large advantage.

Football wagering handicappers have been waiting for an information source this reliable and quick, but soon it’ll be gone. The funny thing here is that some players have said that they don’t even know how to use it, or have never even heard of it. As with the Denver Broncos, who don’t permit personnel or players to bring laptops or even cell phones, their own coach Josh McDaniels was said to not even know what Twitter is. He does, however have his own Twitter page, so that little rumor doesn’t seem likely.

“I don’t really have a Twitter policy. I don’t know what it means. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know that ‘MyFace,’ ‘Spacebook’ or ‘Facebook’ stuff.  I don’t really know what that is either,” he told the media on Saturday.

Teams like the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos are some of the football teams in the NFL that are prohibiting their fans from arriving to training sessions with cell phones or laptops. The NFL has suggested to them that they lift the ban.

This ban applies not only to fans and the general public, but even the media and journalists have suffered because of this and they have had to abide by the regulations of some of these teams. In Florida, the Dolphins’ strange regulation has not only banned micro-blogging but also regular blogging and even sending text messages.

So even though as time goes by more and more teams are adopting this odd new law, the NFL is not exactly on board with the decisions of the teams, and believes you can’t place a restriction on a medium of information. Still, the teams don’t seem to care much and keep unifying under this ban.
