AFC North Will Be a Fight to the Finish

November 2nd, 2009 No comments

AFC North Will Be a Fight to the FinishIn general the AFC playoff race picture is a bit of a NFL football odds snoozer. In three of the four divisions the race for the title is all but wrapped up. Denver (6-1) is light years ahead of the rest of the poor teams in the AFC West.

It’s all but impossible to think that undefeated Indy (7-0) will lose ground to anyone in a weak AFC South. And it’s clear that New England (5-2) is still the class of the AFC East.

But when you focus the flashlight on the AFC North NFL football odds playoff picture,

AFC West is All of a Sudden Very Interesting

AFC West is All of a Sudden Very InterestingThe NFC West has long been the doormat of the NFL football odds conference. It rarely gets any respect (nor does it deserve any) and has relegated to irrelevance more times than not when the post season arrives.

But it’s also enigmatic considering that it’s claimed an NFC conference title two of the past five NFL football odds seasons and after a retched start this season it appears to be one of the more competitive divisions in the conference. Read more…

Jets Looking to Right the Ship against the Hapless RaidersThere is plenty of good NFL football odds news in Oakland these days. Their head coach will not be arrested for assault and battery and the team has strung together its longest win streak of the year at one game.

In New York the picture isn’t quite so rosy. The Jets have dropped three in a row and the rookie QB Mark Shanchez has been perfecting his Jake Delhomme impression tossing 8 INTs in his last three NFL football odds games (5 alone in week 6).

But the good news in the Big Apple this week is that the Jets will play the Raiders in the NFL odds. And that is the perfect medicine for rookie QB struggling with confidence and execution issues. Read more…

Chiefs Looking to Extend Win Streak to Two vs. Chargers

Chiefs Looking to Extend Win Streak to Two vs. ChargersThe monkey is off rookie head coach Todd Haley’s back into the NFL football odds. He finally got that elusive first win of the season on his sixth try.

Now the real challenge will be stringing together two of those precious entities and creating a win streak. He’ll have just such an opportunity this week when the reeling Chiefs come to town and by most indications he will fail.

The Chiefs are a rotten team. But the team’s short-comings in the NFL football odds can hardly be pinned on Haley or new operations guru Scott Pioli, they didn’t create this mess, they’ve just been brought in to clean it up.

And the biggest problem facing them is the team’s lack of talent and coaching can only go so far in resolving that NFL odds issue.
