New York Giants: Best Team in the NFL
Eli Manning’s heel injury seems to have been blown out of proportion and even with Manning at 75% the Giants would still be the best team in the NFL football odds.
The Giants have jumped out to a perfect 5-0 start but what’s been most impressive about this team is the fact that it appears to have very few –if any- NFL football odds weaknesses.
In the early going of the season it’s tough to say which teams are at the top of the talent pool, but so far this no one could argue that the Giants are among the very best teams in the NFL odds. Based on win-loss records, that fact can’t be disputed.
But more than jus wins and losses this team dominates on every level of the game. The Manning-led offense has arguably the best running game in the league and in the absence of Plaxico Burress young receivers Steve Smith and Mario Manningham are on pace for pro bowl seasons.
On defense the Giants also might be the best in the business. The unit ranks second right now, behind only the Denver Broncos, but in a few weeks could be tops. It’s allowing a ridiculous 105 ypg in the air and 104 ypg on the ground –just 210 combined ypg!
This team is also solid as a rock in the special teams play as well.
New York’s biggest test will come in the following week when the Giants travel to the Big Easy to take on the undefeated Saints. The Super Dome is a terribly difficult place to play but if any team can win there, it’s definitely the Giants.
