Do or Die For Pats Against the Falcons
To all the pundits who were so certain that the New England Patriots would waltz their way back to the NFL football odds for the Super Bowl this season: YOU WERE WRONG! After two games the Pats are lucky to be 1-1 and could very likely drop to 1-2 after their match up with a very strong Falcons squad.
The early NFL football odds list the Pats as four point favorites at home. It’s tough for a visiting team to get a win at Foxboro, just ask the Bills. But the Pats mystique has worn off and teams all around the league have seen the team’s vulnerability.
The pass rush has been a nightmare for Tom Brady who has been beaten up is still seeing Jets defenders in his nightmares. The O-line has been a huge weakness for the New English and that was against two moderate defensive units. If Wes Welker sits again in week 3 things will be very bad for Brady.
The Falcons actually have one of the best pass rushes in football and John Abrams is licking his chops at the prospect of a Brady sandwich.
But as good as the Falcons D has been so far this year it’s the team’s offense that is the real star. There is nothing in the NFL odds action so far this year to suggest that the Pats can stop Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzales et al.
Every indication so far this football odds season would suggest that the Falcons are a better team and even on the road should win this match up. The Pats position in the NFL football odds is based on past glory and smart money will be put on Atlanta to win this one.
