Brett Favre is going back to his roots

Brett Favre is going back to his rootsNFL football odds handicappers believe that just like Gabe Kotter, Brett Favre is going back to his roots.  But unlike Mr. Kotter he won’t have a catchy theme song, sweat hogs, or any love from the locals in his homecoming.

When the Packers host the Vikings on Sunday afternoon it could very well be the most hostile NFL odds crowd that Favre has ever played in front of.

It’s hard to say, the Lambeau fans tend to be a courteous bunch and by most accounts rarely boo any opponent.  But as everyone on the planet earth has heard by now, they’ve never hosted an opponent so near to their hearts as Favre. Read more…

Chiefs Looking to Extend Win Streak to Two vs. Chargers

Chiefs Looking to Extend Win Streak to Two vs. ChargersThe monkey is off rookie head coach Todd Haley’s back into the NFL football odds. He finally got that elusive first win of the season on his sixth try.

Now the real challenge will be stringing together two of those precious entities and creating a win streak. He’ll have just such an opportunity this week when the reeling Chiefs come to town and by most indications he will fail.

The Chiefs are a rotten team. But the team’s short-comings in the NFL football odds can hardly be pinned on Haley or new operations guru Scott Pioli, they didn’t create this mess, they’ve just been brought in to clean it up.

And the biggest problem facing them is the team’s lack of talent and coaching can only go so far in resolving that NFL odds issue.

Titans heading for another loss

October 16th, 2009 No comments

Titans Bullock FootballThings could not go any worse for the Tennessee Titans.  After a rough NFL football odds offseason in which the team’s legendary former QB Steve McNair was murdered their looked to be reason for hope at least on the football field. Wrong. The Titans are 0-5 heading into Sunday’s NFL football odds matchup with the New England Patriots at frigid Foxboro.

The team’s chances of winning this game are slim to null and the team’s losing ways are likely to continue.

The Titan’s offense has been serviceable, at least as good as it was last NFL odds season when the team led the league in wins.  But it’s the defense that has been a no show this season.  The Titans have been giving up 363 ypg on defense and rank among the worst in the AFC. Read more…

New York Giants: Best Team in the NFL

October 13th, 2009 No comments

New York Giants Best Team in the NFLEli Manning’s heel injury seems to have been blown out of proportion and even with Manning at 75% the Giants would still be the best team in the NFL football odds.

The Giants have jumped out to a perfect 5-0 start but what’s been most impressive about this team is the fact that it appears to have very few –if any- NFL football odds weaknesses.

In the early going of the season it’s tough to say which teams are at the top of the talent pool, but so far this no one could argue that the Giants are among the very best teams in the NFL odds. Based on win-loss records, that fact can’t be disputed. Read more…

Is there reason for hope in Jacksonville?

October 7th, 2009 No comments

Is there reason for hope in JacksonvilleThe Jags have been one of the better football teams in the NFL odds over the past 5-7 years.  Its stout defense and balanced offense made this team a formidable and competent opponent.

But so far in the 2009 NFL football odds this team has been awful. Starting the NFL odds season at 2-2 is nobody’s idea of a good time but it’s hardly the end of the world either.  In fact, coming off a 37-17 beat down of the defending division champion Tennesee Titans there might even be reasons for hope.

QB David Gerrard had his finest performance of the NFL football odds season by far and was nearly flawless in his dismantling of the toothless Titan defense.  He was 27-37 with 323 yards and 3 TDs.  Not a bad days work at all. Read more…
