Texans Big Favorite at Home vs. Raiders

September 29th, 2009 Scott Michael No comments

Texans Big Favorite at Home vs. RaidersThe Houston Texans are bit of an enigma this NFL football odds season. They look like a Super Bowl contender one minute and a division cellar dweller the next. Fortunately this week they’ll likely look like the former when the Oakland Raiders –a bona fide cellar dweller- come to town.

After getting blown out in the week one NFL football odds, then beating a very good Tennesse team the Texans got beat up again in week three.

The Raiders on the other hand have had no redemption in the NFL odds. After coming close in the first week of the season the Raiders haven’t really been anywhere near a win since. With no solution at QB, an out of control coaching staff and the craziest owner in football odds, the Raiders project out at about three wins this season. Read more…

AFC Powers Struggling

September 21st, 2009 Scott Michael No comments

Preseason power rankings all listed the Pats, Titans and Steelers among the top five teams in the league. NFL football odds and preseason power rankings were all wrong.

Granted, one or two losses hardly dooms a season. But the way that these three powers of the AFC looked in accumulating the losses surely could.

Start with the Pats. This is a team that everyone and their uncle had listed as the NFL football odds Super Bowl champ coming into the season. Brady was back, Moss and Welker would score a hundred TDs and Belichick would find a way to make his defense tick, just as he always does.

Wrong. Brady is back but the O-line is wretched. The ‘D’ is porous and this team is lucky it’s not 0-2 at this juncture. Read more…

AFC West Battle for the Basement: Raiders at Chiefs

AFC West Battle for the Basement Raiders at ChiefsIn what may be the least compelling game of the week two NFL football odds in the 2009 season the Oakland Raiders will travel to the heart of BBQ country to take on the Chiefs. But all things considered these are two evenly matched teams and it should be an entertaining -if sloppy- game

The Chiefs are a team with an identity crisis. A new coach, new GM, a recently fired offensive coordinator and an injured starting QB no one has much of an idea what to expect. After dropping a tough road game in Baltimore during NFL odds week one the jury is still out. The defense is definitely awful but the offense showed signs of life even with a second-string QB. A Steelers Victory Kicks Off NFL Football Odds

September 12th, 2009 Scott Michael 15 comments

The champion team and the defenders of the Super Bowl title, the Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off the 90th season of NFL football odds defeating the Tennessee Titans 13-10 in overtime.

It was a football odds game to be dominated by the defense from both teams. The Steelers suffered a great loss once Troy Polamalu was injured. The same player that had made an interception catch using only one hand could not play the entire second half.

The first quarter went by with no scoring. The first points of the 2009 regular NFL. NFL football odds season came from a 34 yard touchdown pass by star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

“Big Ben” and Santonio Holmes had combined to score the last touchdown of last season’s NFL championship, the same way they had come together to score the very first touchdown of the current NFL odds season. Read more…

The screens will remain where they are

September 9th, 2009 Scott Michael No comments

scoreboardThe NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made the rules very clear concerning the kick offs that bounce off the high definition screens that hang in the new Cowboys Stadium.

This whole situation began during the first game in the new stadium when the ball bounced off the screens during a kick off. At that moment, the referees had no idea what to do concerning this issue, considering there has never been a rule established for such a situation.

Maybe the biggest part of this announcement is the course of action for this NFL betting season. This is an indication that the NFL could have to make it mandatory that the screens be raised before the 2010 NFL football odds season, considering Super Bowl XLV will be held there in 2011. Read more…
