The AFC Elite: Four Teams Remain Perfect

September 30th, 2009 No comments

The AFC Elite Four Teams Remain PerfectFour teams in the AFC remain perfect so far in the AFC and in NFL football odds, and its little surprise that they all happen to leading their respective divisions. Among this group of undefeated there are three very good teams, two rookie head coaches and one team that simply doesn’t belong: the Broncos.

Give credit to first-year coach Josh McDaniels, it’s not easy to go 3-0 in your debut, but incredible luck and poor AFC West opponents have more to do with that than anything that Broncos have accomplished. That’s why this team doesn’t belong in the group with the other NFL football odds AFC elite. Read more…

AFC East is Wide Open

AFC East is Wide OpenFew divisions in football odds, if any, are as competitive this year as the AFC East.  From 1-4, no other conference can say that any one of its teams has a shot at winning the division.  And that should make for some very interesting NFL football odds as the season progresses.

In a strange twist of fate, the defending division champs, the Miami Dolphins, are actually a better team this year but are pegged to finish last in the division this year.  A terribly difficult schedule plus the vast improvement of the other division rivals makes it a tough road to hoe for Miami.  But still, they’re by no means out of the NFL odds hunt and it’s not impossible that they could repeat as champs.

The Pats were the earlier season favorites to run this division but after a Week two beat down from the Jets this team looks shaky for the first time in years.  The football odds seem to get slimmer and slimmer with every game that they dominate this division. Read more…

The Bills agonizing loss in the NFL football odds to New England should provide plenty of incentive to beat the tar out of their next opponent. Unfortunately the next opponent is the Bucs. And even more unfortunate is the fact that Bucs are pretty terrible.

After being blown out at home by the Cowboys during week one, they have little reason to expect a different result on the road against an angry and talented Bills squad. Read more…

Cassel is in Doubt Due to Injury

September 8th, 2009 No comments

Bills Patriots FootballIn the Kansas City Chiefs training camp, there are a few reservations as to what the status is on the health of quarterback Matt Cassel, who suffered a knee injury at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.

The quarterback, who arrived with the stellar contract for the Chiefs after having had a successful season in 2008 when he replaced New England quarterback Tom Brady, was constantly being pressured during the game, played during Week 3 of the preseason, and the Seattle Seahawks defensive line sacked him a grand total of four times, one of those times being the play in which he was injured.

With 13:32 left on the clock in the second quarter, Cassel was chased down and taken to the ground by defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, and right after, showed signs that he was in pain. Just as he was about to take the next snap he called a time out and left the football field limping. Read more…
