AFC North Will Be a Fight to the Finish

November 2nd, 2009 Matthew Logan No comments

AFC North Will Be a Fight to the FinishIn general the AFC playoff race picture is a bit of a NFL football odds snoozer. In three of the four divisions the race for the title is all but wrapped up. Denver (6-1) is light years ahead of the rest of the poor teams in the AFC West.

It’s all but impossible to think that undefeated Indy (7-0) will lose ground to anyone in a weak AFC South. And it’s clear that New England (5-2) is still the class of the AFC East.

But when you focus the flashlight on the AFC North NFL football odds playoff picture,
things get a bit more interesting. Read more…

Miami Looking to Stop Slide at Jets

Miami Looking to Stop Slide at JetsIn the NFL football odds battle for the AFC East the Dolphins have little hope retaining its crown. But any defense it hopes to mount must begin with a road win over the hated New York Jets this Sunday.

The Jets have been up and down the past few weeks but after a massive beating handed out to the Raiders in Week 7 it looks like the team might have righted the ship.

The NFL football odds list the Jets as 3½ point favorites at home.

The first time these two teams met the Dolphins got the better of the match up. They shut down rookie QB Mark Sanchez and played ball control offense keeping the ball out of the Jets hands and pounding them to death with a steady diet of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the NFL odds victory. Saints Take Show on the Road to Miami

Saints Take Show on the Road to MiamiThe New Orleans Saints are on top of the NFL football odds after knocking off the undefeated Giants.

They have to be considered the best team in the NFL until someone knocks them off the perch, and that someone could very well be the Miami Dolphins. When the New Orleans Saints go to Miami they will face a very interesting challenge. Forget that the Dolphins are just 2-3. You can throw the team’s NFL football odds record out the window as the squad is notoriously slow starting.

But what the Saints should take note of is the Dolphins’ unorthodox offense. The Wild Cat has been called every name in the book and most teams in the NFL odds view it as nothing more than a gimmick. And for most teams that all it is, but for the Dolphins it’s religion and they are highly invested in it. Read more…

Broncos vs. Pats in the Belichik Bowl

Broncos vs. Pats in the Belichik BowlBroncos vs. Pats in NFL football odds. Master vs. Protégé. Undefeated vs. 3-1. Mile High vs. Sea Level. This game has it all and should be one of the most exciting NFL football odds matchups of week 5.

When Josh McDaniels took the job as the Broncos head coach he did just everything humanly possible to screw the team up. Since than all he’s done is win (4-0 in his debut) and dished out humble pie to his NFL odds critics by the bucket. Read more…

Skins at Panthers: The Pink Slip Bowl

October 5th, 2009 Matthew Logan No comments

Skins at Panthers The Pink Slip BowlThe Washington Redskins are a team in NFL football odds turmoil. Or least that’s what the headlines say. Jim Zorn is a loss away from being fired and the Jason Campbell would already be on the bench if the team had any depth at QB. And so every game, including its week five match up with Carolina has become a must win game.

The host Panthers aren’t exactly having a fairy tale of a NFL football odds season either with QB Jake Delhomme throwing nearly as many passes to the other team as his own receivers and coach John Fox almost certainly headed for the scrap heap unless his team wins the Super Bowl.

The desperation will be thick in the air as these two struggling teams and struggling coaches fight to remain relevant in the NFL odds. Read more…
